I was invited last week to take a peek at the recently relaunched ‘Chow‘ magazine. What used to be also a print publication (launched by Jane Goodman in 2004, read the Newsweek story Chow Time) then ceased to be and was recently acquired by CNET which has also purchased Chowhound an online discussion board for food afficionados. ‘Chow‘ is now only available online and at first sight it sounds like they want to keep the fun into food and cooking. Their tagline after all is Food, Drink, Fun. They are not yet available to the general public. In the Stories section, I especially liked ‘That’s not Wasabi’, ‘Masters of the Bean’ (a guide to the best coffee roasters in the US) and ‘Killer Apps’ (not the software but these amuse-gueules that people fight for at a party). I found a few people I know in their blog reviews. Amongst them Melissa of The Traveler’s Lunchbox, she inspired me to write my 5 Things to Eat before you Die and Derrick of An Obsession with Food who hosted one of the monthly Wine Blogging Wednesday that I participated in.
I am sure I will be a frequent visitor and reader of Chow.
