It took my Monday afternoon tired brain a few minutes to have its Eureka moment and connect the dots after reading about the PingMag (Tokyo) ‘Boar’ themed holiday party.
The westerner forgot that this year in Asia is The Year of the Boar.
His character is described by Family Culture as: "Pure of heart, Boar people are generous and kind. Full of inner strength and courage, they can take on any task. A friend who listens, the Boar is sincere and trustworthy. They are driven by their passion for life."
Others also consider the Boar as having a taste for La Dolce Vita and all things sensual.
The last ‘Year of the Boar‘ was in 1995 which also happened to be a very good year for Wine as well if my memory does not fail me.
According to Wikipedia the Pig-Boar 
is associated with fertility and bearing a child in this very year means your offspring will be happy and honest.
Actually this year (from February 18, 2007 to February 6, 2008 to be precise) according to the same Wikipedia notes and Chinese thinking , Pigs are not ordinary, they are Fire Pigs (the animal and the elements) and they correspond to what would be for us in the west the Scorpio.
