Since moving a couple months ago, I had 2 problems, mail that takes forever to arrive at the new address and as a consequence bills that lag.
This week I had to call my local utility, PSEG, I am now on my 4th call. The first 2 calls I had to hang up because I could not wait. Yesterday, I started the call and then my wife took over. It took over an hour of holding before getting a human.
Unfortunately a small but important detail was not addressed correctly so I am back on the line right now, holding for around an hour already.
My problem with PSEG is the fact that when they put you on hold they quote a 20 minutes wait for the customer service representative.
Where is the ‘customer service’?
And the music is cheesy!
Thanks God that I deal with most of these issues online.
Who wants to deal with a person when you have to waste hours getting to them?
It takes the patience of a Zen practitioner.
A Friday morning rant!
The only positive side, it gave me something to write about.
Hopefully this morning call will not turn into an afternoon one.
In The heartbreak of technology Jeffrey Zeldman related similar time wasters.
