I scout new services, online and off, on a daily basis. Some are so so or mediocre and I usually do not bother mentioning them. Others are well designed and fit the purpose that they were set up for.
A case in point is Sonic Living a Digital Guide to Concerts in a number of US Cities plus London. You can build a wish list of musicians you would like to see.
The only critic I would make is that they list too many Tribute Band concerts, not my cup of tea.
I wish I could see Elvis Costello and the Imposters play tomorrow in San Francisco. 
It would have been a nice birthday present.
I bet it is sold out anyway.
If your approach to music is more akin to that of an explorer pay a visit to Odd Music and discover instruments whose existence you were unaware of.
