I personally do not watch TV much. I usually turn the TV on to watch DVD’s, seldom do I like eating in front of it.
I cannot remember either the last time I bought anything (for myself) at the food counter at the Movies.
What led me to this TV Couch Potato versus Table question?
Meandering with a purpose (I was looking for articles on Umbrella Stands for Bicycles) landed me in Australia or rather in Chew on This land (a Sydney Morning Herald blog) where (I quote) Health writer Paula Goodyer dishes up her ideas on eating smarter.
I was especially interested by her piece The table or the TV – where are you eating dinner tonight? where she reflects on the fact that eating in front of the TV rather than at the Dinner table creates a connection between Food and TV that might end up making you eat more often and possibly junkier fare.
Dinner is as much a social time for me, sitting down for a meal with others, so I vote for the table.
What about you?
