When I do not read or write about food or eat it, I also like to cook and even bake so when I saw Patisserie Jan Andries site recommended on Think Vitamin, I had to check it.
The site is only in Dutch. Thankfully, a lot of the site consists of succulent photos (or should I say slides) so all of us non Dutch-Flemish speakers can still enjoy the sights.
It seems that Patisserie Jan Andries (pictured here) is located in Brussels.
Jan Andries mentions a Dutch book titled Just Baking which led me to Just Baking (in English), an American site .
Their current story is the very seasonal When you have Apples, make Apple Pie.
‘Just Baking‘ Editor, Paul England, grew up in Wisconsin with food and baking on his mind even though he turned to computers as a career.
Paul now lives in Illinois and also writes Cookies, et Cetera.
Where is the Toulouse connection will you ask?
Baking and all that Jazz reminded me of the Claude Nougaro song Les mains dune femme dans la farine (A woman’s hands in the flour).
I hope this did not make you famished.

Glad you liked Jan Andries’s site. His shop is not in Brussels but in Meerbeke,a small town near Ninove. His clients come from all over though, some drive more than an hour to pick up a few of his cakes, which are truly excellent !
Cheers from Belgium!
