There are not that many services that allow you to manage your money online wherever you are with whatever computer is available.
A relative newcomer is Mint.
The service is free.
First sign up for Mint.
Then list all the bank and credit card accounts you use.
In order for Mint to keep the financial information up to date, you will need to input the login information used to access these accounts.
As for your spending, Mint automatically categorizes it and warns you if your expenses get out of whack in certain areas.
They can alert you if your bank account dips too low, when payments are due, if large deposits become available and a few nice other touches.
I do not believe that they offer any way to track your investments or balance your accounts.
My main concern when I discovered this newcomer was the issue of security.
They seem to have a solid team and they just hired new executives from Intuit and EBay so I guess I have to give Mint the benefit of the doubt on security.
To conclude if you need a personal finance online service that gives you a broad picture of your finances, does not require software purchase and installation and is Free, give them a try.
Mint is Free because they will from time to time recommend other services than those you use.
If you sign up for any of them, they get a commission.
Put it under Clutter Reduction Programs.
