One could spend days and weeks following the Loire River and making stops at the many wineries that make their home by its side.
Independent producer, Michel Gendrier gave us the Chenerny ‘Le Pressoir’ (2005).
Mostly Pinot Noir with 20% Gamay, grapes are sourced from Domaine des Huards, some fruit, honest and to the point, good aromas and well balanced. The winemaker credits it with leather notes.
As a plus they use organic methods.
Amongst their white wines, the Cuvee Francois 1er is made only from Romorantin Grapes, old vines to boot (50 to 75 years old)…The French Duck tasted it.
