Is Eating Dog Stew in Seoul part of your New Year’s Resolutions, will you discover Zen or Live Dangerously.
New Year’s resolutions have now become an industry. David Bodanis offers a few books (not all that new) who fit that trend in Glorious Resolutions (FT Week-End).
They range from the obsessive, Julie and Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously (Julie Powell) to the humorous Self Made Man (Norah Vincent), plus the Turn on, Tune in, Drop Out version 2008, Bonfire of the Brands: How I learned to live without labels by Neil Boorman and last the aforementioned opus by Camilla’s son, Tom Parker-Bowles, The Year of Living Dangerously: A Global Adventure in Search of
Culinary Extremes.
It seems that ‘dangerously’ is (or was) the IT Word for publishers when these projects got bankrolled.
Let me reassure you, you will not catch me eating dog stew in Seoul or anywhere else, not even for a book deal.
