Rather than hop on a bus and zap through a city in an hour and hanging out only with tourists, a walking tour of any place beats it.
You get the feel of the city, its smells, aromas, colors, sounds all at once. You might go into sensory overload but it is better than an antiseptic view.
Why do I mention this today?
Well, I found out via Tokyo Tourism Info that the metropolis offers "10 different guided tours which start from Shinjuku (Tokyo Tourist
Information Center Head Office at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government
Buildings) and visit major sightseeing spots in Tokyo. They are full of
attractions in Tokyo such as visiting shrines and streets, experiencing
a tea ceremony, and exploring the Musashino area which is richly
endowed with nature".
It is still a guided tour so you will not get lost in translation.
