The Travelista pages of How to Spend It always bring fresh ideas and inspiration.
Since the April edition is not available online (March is), I thought I should share Travelista suggestions on how to plan your escape.
Let me start with Indagare which describes itself as ‘the next generation of travel wisdom‘.
The site was created by Melissa Biggs Bradley, the founding editor of Town & Country Travel and launched about a year ago.
Travel writers and personalities share their picks.
Travel ideas can be searched by destination, interest (what they call ‘passion points’) or keywords.
They also offer Concierge Tips.
I find it irritating that you can view a page only once if you are not a member.
After that you need to register.
I do like the site overall feel and suggestions though.
I cannot fathom why anyone would run out of ideas as to places where to go but Globorati aims to serve the affluent and sometimes bored who want to ‘travel beautiful’.
Their style is more magazine like (as in sensationalist) with titles such as Action, Drama, Boobies for example.
If you don’t go anywhere after a visit to Globorati at least you were entertained.
Where will you stay? Tablet Hotels reviews boutique and luxury hotels around the world.
Their tagline is ‘hotels for global nomads‘ what others call the creative class I guess.
Amongst current deals, I could not help but notice the imposing Le Pavillon De La Reine on Place des Vosges in Paris, perfect if you want a taste of chateau life.
Their special offer is ‘from 365 EUR/night. Spring Offer w/ bkfst, river trip on the Seine, & surprise gift. March 10 – May 31, 2008‘.
From there you could go walk to the Parisian Patisseries I mentioned recently.
