Before my Espresso Maker died, I had been checking models and prices at many stores.
A number of models were in the $700 to over $1000 range.
My recently purchased (factory refurbished) desktop computer which has quite a few bells and whistles cost $429 (plus shipping).
Is there any good reason why (design, manufacturing cost, you name it) a small kitchen appliance should cost more than a quite powerful computer?
How much better is a cup of Java percolating out of a high end maker versus a $150 to $250 machine?
I wonder!
