Wine events are popping all over the map.
Some wines are getting a bad rap.
One of them might be Rosé.
In France, I would often enjoy a Rosé de Provence or Rosé d’ Anjou or a local one during the summer months.
In the US the pink stuff image might have been tainted by the wimpy White Zinfandel.
To the rescue come Rosé Avengers and Producers or RAP, a zany promotion engine.
To boost sales of Rosé, they bring the fun back in drinking wine with their PINK OUT! SF 2008 which (I quote) "will be held at Butterfly Restaurant on the Embarcadero at Pier 33. Overlooking the San Francisco Bay, the 4th annual fine rosé tasting will feature 45 still and sparkling rosés from around the world, winemakers, Pan-Pacific appetizers by Butterfly’s Chef Robert Lam, and contemporary DJ grooves".
Event date is Tuesday, May 13 (from 6:30pm to 8:30 pm) and cost is $35 per person.
Amongst the wineries featured: Etude, Keller Estate, Pedroncelli, St Francis, Raymond to name a few…
Be warned, PINK OUT! tends to sell out and be packed.
Thanks to Alder of Vinography for bringing this fun tasting to my attention.
Other California wine happenings: Pinot at the Airport: Hospices of Sonoma Tasting and Auction (May 3rd)
I have been in the States for 3 years and I have been missing my “rose tradition” (=South of France, hot summer, lunch outside with cold rose:-)
Thank you so much for this update, I will try to make it!
