I did not use the term Tapas since it is now used for all and anything and is at danger of loosing all meaning.
I have not paid a visit yet to Kuma Inn which blends the Thai and Filipino roots of its chef-owner.
I started salivating at the idea of stopping by after reading the Haute Restaurant of the Week review of the restaurant by Rebecca Walsh (212 Dressing Room, November 14-08).
Located upstairs at 113, Ludlow Street (between Delancey and Rivington) in New York you could easily miss it.
Rebecca was thrilled by "the seared ahi tuna, thai chili with miso vinaigrette, and the drunken spicy shrimp finished with sake. The kalamansi and thai chilies was one of our favorites too but the sticky rice and the daikon summer rolls alone will even have you coming back for more."
I borrowed the visually appealing dish (above) from their site without knowing for sure what the main ingredient is.
Sake is available.
If you bring your own wine, the corkage fee is a very reasonable $5 per bottle.
Check The Menu with prices going from $6 to $12.
The "Washington State, Willapa Bay
oyster omelet" at $9 sounds interesting.
More tapas is "arroz valenciana saffron
rice, chicken, sausage, shrimp and mussels" $12.
Have you tried the place?
Did the experience and the food live up to the reviews?
Great prices for the Consumed to Thrifty…
