Born in Brittany, galettes and crepes are part of my DNA.
I did notice while going through Everyday Harumi 60 plus recipes including the Quick Pickled Cucumber Dish (pictured above) that crepes are also popular in Japanese cooking.
Everyday Harumi offers Simmered Pork in Crêpes for example.
The Sushi Girl (from the Philippines) writes in Savory and Sweet Crepes (February 2006) that ever since she was introduced to crepes while she was in Japan, she's been obsessed.
She mentions having an "Egg and Curry Sauce Crepe" for example.
Nobu Yamada of Kobo Restaurant (Pickering, Ontario) was pictured making Japanese crepes.
So with all that in mind, for the Everyday Harumi Book Contest, Part 2, I decided to ask you to offer the most memorable Japanese Crepes you ever had.
No need for a recipe, unless you insist.
Just e-mail us at sls at njconcierges dot com the name of the recipe and where you discovered it and a picture of the dish.
Part 2 of the Everyday Harumi Book Contest starts Friday, October 16 and ends at Midnight (US Eastern Time) on October 25, 2009.
Winner gets a signed copy of the book.
I can't wait to see how many twists on crepes I will discover.
