Let me first say that all in all, due to huge improvements in cellaring, transportation and the rest of the wine chain, I think there are less bad bottles of wine roaming around than used to be.
I am not talking about something one dislikes.
It doesn't mean that there are no bad wines to be had, I am talking here about wines that are on their death bed, whose red robe (if it's a red) is turning to brownish red.
Tells you the wine is off.
Joseph Nase of NY Magazine covers Bad Wine with The four most common defects and how to detect them in plain English in his Sommelier column.
Do you agree with the Corked Wine Etiquette offered by Brooklyn's Wine Guy (November 09).
So my question is if the wine you bought in a store is off, whatever its price, do you return it?
If only to save others the same unpleasant or if you happen to have guests over embarrassing experience.
I guess I will do just that.
Tell me if I am wrong.
