With the whirlwind of activity I've been caught up in December and January, I did not have a chance to keep up with many friends in the food and wine sphere.
Chocolatier Oliver Kita is one of them.
An interview had been planned around the theme of music and sweet treats to celebrate the launch of his Chocolate Suite blog.
I am sure it will happen when our schedules allow it.
Always creative, Oliver added to his palette for Valentine's Day, LoveLetter Chocolates.
What's in the box:
displayed in two layers. Each heart is filled with organic dark
chocolate truffle ganache. The top quartet of hearts are the
LoveLetter, these hearts are each inscribed with a word, the four
hearts enclosed together suggest a single thought written on the card
enclosed…creating a chocolate LoveLetter.
The
bottom four hearts are single and have no writing inscribed and are for
tasting right away until the LoveLetter quartet of hearts are ready to
be enjoyed.
Pick one of the options, Romance (pictured below), Joy or Love, write your message with your order and Oliver will print it for you and enclose it in the box.
In his mind “To arouse pleasure, chocolates must be jewel-like and filled with the perfume of cacao”.
Ready to take it a step further, Oliver shares his idea of a 3 Course Chocolate Aphrodisiac Menu:
White Chocolate Vichysoisse Dusted with Ground Cacao Nibs
Dinner:
Temple Bell Curried Chicken with Chilies, Coconut and Chocolate Vinegar
Roasted Zucchini and Carrots
Dessert:
Bittersweet Chocolate Mousse
Dark Pearl Shortbread Hearts
Want to give it a try, recipes can be found in Three Courses of Pleasure on Chocolate Suite.
Full disclosure: No Oliver did not bribe me to write this piece, I did not get a sample of this new creation.
