A while back (September 2008 to be precise), in From Handball to Wine Crazy, I wrote about the Mas du Fadan rouge.
At the Wasserman 30th Anniversary Bash on February 1st in New York, I was happy to meet the Fadan himself, David Fayet, face to face.
I was also pleased to get a sneak preview of the Mas du Fadan Rosé 2009.
I joked with David that the wine was 'obscured by clouds'.
The rosé was bottled not long ago and I guess travel did not help
It really was cloudy, pleasant though and Fifty Fifty Grenache/ Syrah.
It should get to our US shores early April 2010, before Tax Time and retail for around $15.
Want to get a quick upgrade on the Fadan Rouge go for his Cotes du Ventoux Rouge 'Les Fees' 2007 (around $17) equal parts Carignan, Grenache, Syrah, a rich experience.
Note the little fairy landing to the left of the label.
Green wine drinkers will be happy to learn that David is in the process of having Mas du Fadan certified organic.
Goats do roam in the vineyard, keeping it tidy.
