Whether they are Grands Crus, Crus Bourgeois, Co-Ops or any other classification, 54 Domaines in Medoc open their doors for Printemps des Chateaux 2010 on April 10 and April 11.
If you cannot spend the whole day, pick one appellation amongst Medoc, Haut-Medoc, St Julien, St Estephe, Pauillac, Listrac, Moulis, Margaux.
Could you find a better reason to take a country ride along D 2 (Departementale 2) nicknamed 'La route des chateaux'?
Depending on the wineries, art will be on display, some will offer 'en primeur' tastings and a number of local restaurants are joining the fun.
Check the Detailed Program (French Only) if you are lucky enough to be in the area.
If you don't want to drive around, on the same days, 80 Cotes de Blaye producers host a tasting from 10: 00 AM to 6 PM at the Citadelle de Blaye for the 16th Printemps des Vins de Blaye (program also in French only).
4 Euros gets you in at the Blaye Event then you have to work your way through 4 rooms and sample away.
Enjoy!
