There was a time not long ago when many of us complained about not having enough idle time and all these places where we would like to go.
Some of us might now find themselves with too much time on their hands.
Whatever your situation is, I found 2 sites that look at circumstances in a positive light and opening the door to possibilities as long as you are ready to think about travel, life and work differently.
The first site Briefcase to Backpack offers practical tips on how to make the most of career breaks and sabbaticals.
Amongst their recent pieces I enjoyed Married with Luggage (March 8) on how Betsy & Warren Talbot 'saved money to change their lives' after a death in the family reminded them that life is too short to be wasted.
Briefcase to Backpack in turn led me to Your Life is A Trip which has this to say about themselves:
"Work. Catch some winks. Eat. Produce. Work some more. Sleep a little less or a little more. Survive. There HAS to be more to life than this!
YourLifeisATrip.com is dedicated to the proposition that it may be crazy, exasperating, demanding, and frustrating, but life is also astounding, amazing, funny and fabulous. No matter what happens, one thing is certain: whether you are at home or on the road…life is always a trip!"
Thoughtful and positive advice for our No Vacation Nation
Thanks so much for featuring Briefcase to Backpack! We want to do away with that “no vacation nation” attitude and show Americans the wonders that a career break + travel can offer!
