Harnessing the power of the web, on June 4, 2010 people will be gathering in cities and towns across the United States
and Europe for a simultaneous flash mob to raise awareness on the unique and indispensable work of Non Profits around the world.
United under the Social Mob 4 Good umbrella, events will kick off starting at 1PM CDT (Central Daylight Time).
Seems like most groups decided to use Facebook for Social Mob 4 Good updates.
I noted that Chicago for example is supporting Chicago House,
the first organization in the Midwest to provide housing for people with
HIV and AIDS and Friends of the Parks a not-for-profit organization that works on many park issues whose main projects in 2010 are:
- Develop a new playground at Grand Crossing Park, located in
one of Chicago's neediest communities - Create a plan to develop 500 acres of new lakefront
parks as part of our "Last 4 Miles" program - Expand our exciting tree-planting program
Not knowing what to do? Think again.
You could use the event to campaign for their Public Libraries who in many cities are seeing their opening hours reduced due to cutbacks in funding.
