At the introduction for the first ever Japanese Restaurant Week, I met a Miso maker whose family had been in the trade since forever.
Talking with him you could feel a combination of pride for the good work and at the same time some humility as he was the latest in a long line of people practicing the craft.
The same realities and emotions are carried in Miso happy in Nakamurabashi (Japan Times, May 30, 2010) by Kit Nagamura.
Does being a train station in Tokyo is all that Nakamurabashi has to offer?
Am I just tired?
Well, it is also home of the Awa Odori Festival.
Time to wrap up this serpentine Tokyo Thursdays #142
