The Flavours Food Week has been going on at Old Spitalfields Market since Monday.
Market uses the occasion to celebrate the "launch of its new Flavours Food Court, located in the heart of the city
and close to Brick Lane. A special area of the market will be dedicated
to showcasing the best in local, regional and international food and
drink."
Highlights of this weekly event are:
"The Flavours food court also includes a
demonstration kitchen that will be put through its paces on Wednesday
21st and Friday 23rd of July by chefs from Old Spitalfields Market’s
restaurants, including Le Bouchon Breton, Wagamama, The Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Café Caribbean, Androuet and many more.Visitors to these free events can expect
to see the celebrated chefs cooking their signature dishes, which all
forms part of OSM’s year-round event schedule, at this world famous
centre of food and fashion in Central London.These demonstrations will take place at
12.30pm, 1.30pm and 2.30pm on both days and members of the public are
welcome to come along, with excellent access from train routes into
Liverpool Street, which is a mere five-minute walk away.In addition to the demonstrations, there
will be free tasting samples available and many of OSM’s bars and
restaurants will have special week-long offers for city workers and
visitors."
Not all is lost as the special event closes on July 24.
Old Spitalfields Market opening hours are 10 AM to 4 PM.
General Market Stalls are opened from 10 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Wednesday and 9 AM to 5 PM on Sunday.
