When in France, many visitors might have a couple of high end addresses on their dining list.
The rest of the time, they could be happy to discover honest eateries serving local fare.
French magazine L'Express has put together Resto a moins de 30 Euros (Restaurants for Less than 30 Euros). The list is organized City by City and so far goes from A to V. Surely they will get to Z at one point. All their Paris picks are at the end of the list.
Under letter A, one of the choices is A Nepita A Nepita in Ajaccio (Corsica). For 28 Euros, Simon Andrews and Julien Attardo serve you a prix fixe duo, main dish and dessert. Small wine list has its share of Vins de Corse. Closed Saturday Lunch and all day Sunday.
L like Lyon, one of their picks close to the universities is Yamamori, sushi for around 25 Euros, they recommend Tsukemono Moriawase as a starter. Closed Mondays.
In Saint-Brieuc (Brittany), they chose Youpala Bistrot where only Lunch is an under 30 Euros option. Run by Jean-Marie Baudic, I noted Coquilles St-Jacques (favorites of mine), dessert is broad minded with inclusion of Creme Catalane. These 2 options depend on the mood of the chef who likes to improvise his menu by following his inspiration. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
