After keeping the suspense alive for a while, Gal Zohar shared the final (for now) Wine List drafted for Nopi, the new Yotam Ottolenghi restaurant in London.
The place had a soft opening a few days ago.
Wine list is almost as spartan as the menu.
While menu counts 4 sections, Meat, Fish, Veg, Sweets, wine list is divided in 4 main sections (White, Red, Sparkling-Champagne, Fortified-Desserts) plus a small Rose pitch (2 choices).
Whites and Reds are both divided in 5 sections.
-For Whites: Trumvirato, The Outsiders, Mountain Wine, A Different Kind of White (what you see is orange), Tour de France.
Different Kind of White:
Pithos, COS, Sicily, Italy 2009 50
Vin de Pays de L'Hérault, Leon Barral, Languedoc, France 2008 55
Pinot Grigio, Dario Prinčič, Venezia Giulia, Italy, 2006 68
-For Reds: Giro d'Italia, Volcanic Wine, Pinot Noir, Lesser Known Varietals, And Gamay for All.
And Gamay for All:
Gamay d'Auvergne “Les Pierres Noires”, Maupertuis, Côtes d’Auvergne 2009 34
Morgon, Sarl Marcel Lapierre, Beaujolais, France 2009 48
Mâcon Cruzille, Clos des Vignes du Maynes, Bourgogne, France 2009 55
All in all, if i counted right, 24 wines are offered by the glass.
The list leans Italian.
