We got swamped with entries for previous giveaway.
The Cook the Books Contest got a more subdued response.
We have 3 winners for 3 of the 5 cookbook trios offered in this contest.
At number one, Carla-Renea from California snaps the Comfort Food trio courtesy of Andrews McMeel Publishing and has this to share about her:
-lives in foggy and cold San Francisco and wishes for a day when she can actually walk around the city without the need to carry a sweater
-dreams of the day when summer in SF is actually sunny and not freezing cold and foggy. same for sunny winters.
-a nutrition student who loves sweets
-goes to sleep thinking about what to eat the following day
-is in love with Askinosie chocolates, Francis Miot coucougnettes and Indian frybread drizzled with honey and sprinkled with powdered sugar
-big supporter of SF food carts
-loves to volunteer for La Cocina
-wishes that Mission Chinese Food will make their wife-material Taro Panna Cotta with chrysanthemum honey and oat crisp again
Next, Maureen of Delphi, Indiana. She is the recipient of 1 Classic, 2 Sneak Previews courtesy of Hyperion and sums up why she took her chance in 3 lines:
"I am a Stay at Home Mom to wonderful 7 Year Old Olivia – I try to find new and interesting ways to get my little picky eater to eat new things. I'm always looking on the internet and through the vast selection of cookbooks and any Group of Cook Books offered in this contest would make a great addition to anyone's Kitchen and I can't wait to get "cookin" with some new recipes."
Third, Kenon a Kansas City native who went for Fresh Out of Publisher's Oven Trio courtesy of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and tells us what he's up to :
"I am from Kansas City, KS. I am attending Johnson & Wales University for Culinary School and I consider myself to be a foodie geek. I write about it, I love to visit different restaurants and eat various cuisines, I take photographs of it, and of course…. cook and eat a lot at home!"
Congrats to all three.
2 of the trios did not find takers.
I want to thank St. Martin's Press for offering a Manage Your Kitchen trio.
The other prize without a home was an Italian Trio courtesy of Kyle Books…
I think I will take a breezer from contests this week-end.
Gotta catch up with my wine tasting notes.
