Seminars, immersion week-ends for food bloggers and aspiring writers seem to pop up like miracles in Lourdes.
One of them, happening-opening as I write is Eat, Write, Retreat (May 20-22) in Washington D.C. It offers a combination of cooking, photography and writing sessions.
Despite the rapid fire title, no shooting range, the only target practice will be photo shoots.
I hope that phography wise it won't be all about creating more food porn.
Amongst the speakers, I noted Fran of Food News Journal who is kind enough to find my stories worth mentioning from time to time.
In photography department, Renee Comet. She took the shots for Mitsitam Cookbook whose Cranberry Crumble recipe I shared.
A pioneer In what is now becoming a crowded field, Shauna James Ahern of Gluten Free Girl fame will also be there.
Last but not least Monica Bhide, the original Spice Girl, will cover everything else.
Marketing and PR experts in the line up like Brona Cosgrave are there i guess to teach the art of the pitch. Some marketers might benefit from taking sessions in that art themselves.
A full plate week-end for attendees, some of the best ingredients in my humble opinion are patience and practice.
