Shame on me. Until her publisher reached out to me, I had not heard about Renee Wilkinson nor read her blog Hip Chick Digs or her book Modern Homestead (Fulcrum Publishing, April 2011).
Her book in a nutshell:
"Everything you ever wanted to know about homesteading, all with a cool, modern style. From windowsills to backyards, cities hold more potential for growth than just urban sprawl. We can grow vegetables, raise small livestock, and fill our cupboards with canned decadence. Regardless of space or green thumb know-how, Renee Wilkinson offers something for everyone."
The Hip Chick Digs girl is coming all the way from Portland (Oregon) to meet her fans and make new ones at Book Expo America in New York on Thursday (May 26).
Renee will be planting seeds and signing books from 11:30-12:30pm at Table 11 and from 2-3pm at Fulcrum Publishing's booth #4507.
How will be dealing with the 'carbon footprint' of her Portland to New York trip is another matter?
