Family holidays should be a relaxed affair.
Rather than mix drinks for everyone which might be time consuming, get pichers ready and put them on the table.
Want to add a touch of Britishness to your Mothers Day afternoon meal or backyard party, here’s a Pimm’s Cocktail Recipe from Homemade (Kyle Books) by Clodagh McKenna.
Pimm’s for Wimbledon (as she calls it)
Ingredients:
1 Part Pimm’s
1 Slice Orange
1 Slice Lemon
2 Slices Cucumber
1 Sliced Strawberry
Sprig of Mint
Ice Cubes
3 Parts Lemon Soda Pop
Preparation:
Pour the Pimm’s into a large pitcher, followed by all of the fruit and the fresh mint.
Add the ice cubes and top up with the lemon soda pop. Stir lightly, and serve.
Happy Mothers Day to mothers wherever it is celebrated today, May 8, 2011.
