In 2011, Comite Champagne celebrates its 70th anniversary.
Festivities are in full swing in Champagne of course.
Comite Champagne decided to share this joyful occasion with the world at large.
In the U.S, the first two Champagne Grand Tastings will be held in New York and San Francisco.
On Monday, May 23, I will have the pleasure to attend the New York Event at Plaza Hotel along with other media people, sommeliers and members of the wine industry.
Champagnes from more than 30 houses and growers, each of whom is bringing up to three selections from their portfolio. Champagne Boizel will be one of them.
Sam Heitner, director of the Champagne Bureau, the U.S. representative of the CIVC notes “This is the first time that we are hosting a tasting from the Champagne appellation in the United States. It’s an unprecedented opportunity to enjoy such a wide variety of Champagnes” and “more than 90 Champagnes will showcase the unique quality that is born from the land, climate and centuries-old methods that can only be found in Champagne, France.”
The second U.S event will be held in San Francisco on May 25, 2011.
Both events are for media and trade only.
