The peaceful town of Graz (Austria) is home to the Landeseughaus (Styrian Armory) a testament to man's creativity to both protect and make lethal troops on their way to the battlefield.
"Built by the Styrian estates between 1642 and 1645, the Styrian Armoury in Graz’s Herrengasse was once the principal armoury in the south-eastern part of the Habsburg Empire. Now the largest historic armoury worldwide, it has been a museum since the mid-18th century.
it contains about 32,000 arms and military equipment dating from the late 15th to the early 18th century, enough weapons to equip an army of 5000 men."
Landeszeughaus (Styrian Armory) is part of the Joanneum Museum since 1892.
The Joanneum could be compared to the Smithsosian in the U.S.
