Over the summer, I sampled a few white Riojas.
Yesterday at Great Match 2011 in New York, I was introduced to Vina Albina Blanco Semidulce (2010), a late harvest white Rioja that will be great company for Foie Gras, Blue Cheese or Pâté.
Grapes come from old vines. This wine is 90% Viura, 10% Malvasía de Rioja from small plots in Cenicero.
At around $15 this semi-sweet offering from Bodegas Riojanas fits most budgets.
