I made a quick stop at Le Du's Wines in New York yesterday and quickly browsed front of the store display.
I noticed a number of items like a Chenin Blanc from Languedoc. What got my attention most was Raisins Gaulois, vin de table, a red table wine from Marcel Lapierre made with Gamay grapes.
My French roots made me note Raisins Gaulois for its label whose creator is Sine, a French cartoonist and political satirist, a fact that might not resonate with most American wine drinkers.
Marcel Lapierre describes 'natural wine' as something that is not industrial, that respects the place it comes from and the grapes.
People have heaped praise on Raisins Gaulois for past couple of years both in the UK and USA.
I did not pick a bottle as I had a large haul already. I will have to correct that lapse on my next visit to Le Du's Wines.
Humored by wine that happens to be organic for belated Green Day # 200
