What could be more refreshing after attending a tech session in New York this morning than being surprised while walking past Fashion Institute of Technology by Hue, Tint, Shade and Color, an exhibit by students of School of Art and Design who take the class of the same name.
"For the class Hue, Tint, Shade and Color, students are assigned a color and a material type out of which to create an imaginative look for their mannequin — one that says “If you want to look this fabulous, buy what I’m wearing.”
Some of the manenequins wear little more than wire mesh. In the case of Venus, her shell.
Olive Green 'Gaia' (above) created by Briane Scanzuno and Edith Koci (i hope I got their names right) offers its take on color green: 'life, ground, balance'.
More details on project and class in Anatomy of a studio design class (School of Art and Design blog, March 20).
If you happen to be in the area, pop in and take a look, this is a free exhibit.
