A white wine that piqued my curiosity at Ole Imports tasting in April at Instituto Cervantes in New York was Berroia from Bodegas Berroja in Tzakoli de Biscaia (Basque region).
I was intrigued to find Riesling (4%) alongside Folle Blanche (6%) with Hondarribi Zuri as main variety (90%).
It is crisp, low in alcohol at 12%, yet rich in flavors.
Suggested pairings from Ole include oysters and artichokes (a Breton favorites) as well as asparagus so perfect for some spring dishes.
