You like things like photography both as document and vehicle for dreams and you find out you ignored the work of people who are almost your neighbors.
That was the case for me regarding New Jersey photographer Michael Massaia until i saw his Platinum Pictures showcased on Phaidon agenda.
I picked two of his New Jersey themed images to give you a taste of his work.
First Moby Dick & Swing Ride-Seaside Heights, down the shore (above).
Second, trucks captured on the New Jersey Turnpike for his Seeing the Black Dog series (Number 4 below).
Both images will be featured in Wanderlust show at J.Cacciola Gallery in New York opening May 1st 2012 and running until June 2.
"Wanderlust is an exhibition of paintings by James Lahey, from a series, "Eight Days," and Michael Massaia photographs, "Seeing the Black Dog." It is a display of life on the road and how our relationship to the vast landscape of America shapes our perceptions and realities."
