It is commonplace on social media to self-brand ourselves as experts.
I’ve been reading many such statements and it led me to question the legitimacy of bragging rights.
If I take myself as an example, I have now lived in the USA (New Jersey to be more specific) for 35 plus years.
How much, how little expertise can I claim to have about the USA and/or France?

I definitely weaved contacts in my Tri-State area, learned a few things about the topics I have worked on as a personal assistant, which are varied.
Would I be the right person to dispense advice to a French or European entrepreneur wanting to try their luck in America?
U.S is a big country with many differences so I would keep that advice to the geographic area that I know. I would be mostly useful in highlighting some of the mistakes not to make.
As for France, I follow things from a distance.
I have been digging a bit more around Occitanie while prepping my latest venture Mediterranean Work and Play. Traveled around the region over 2 years to meet property owners and select my picks.
When I relocate to the South of France, how long will I be able to honestly claim I can offer expert advice on landing your business in the USA, in my case the New York area.
How fast will my knowledge of the U.S become dated, a distant memory?
