Better late than not, after a few hectic weeks, I am catching up with myself, one thing at a time.
Prizes have been delivered.
Of the 4 items I put on the table for Menu for Hope 6, three of them found a home.
I want to thank my 3 winners for helping us make Menu for Hope 6 a success in a challenging year (2009), raising $77, 000.
Who won what?
Harvey of Stanhope, New Jersey fetched a copy of 'Everyday Harumi' (simple Japanese food for family and friends) by Harumi Kurihara.
Thanks to Andrea at Octopus Publishing for donating the book.
Veronica of Portland, Oregon won the Mary Jane Soda prize and wrote "thanks so much for donating this prize! I'm excited that I won, but I'm even more excited that donations like yours raised so much money for such a worthy cause."
Simple words like that make it worth signing up for edition 7.
Matt, the relaxing soda man gave this bit of zen.
Derek, a self described technologist from Seattle won 'Coco' the book.
Sarah of Phaidon offered this book in less time than it took me to ask, thank you.
Derek discovered Menu for Hope via Chez Pim, Pim started it all.
He has contributed to Menu for Hope the last 3 years and says why "food and hunger are important issues to me personally, so it's wonderful to have the opportunity to give whilst having a go at some really superb prizes." Derek also shares "I cook whenever I can find spare time, which isn't nearly as often as I'd like."
Thanks a million to all 3 of them and many others around the world who pitched in for making Menu for Hope 6 a success.
