Once a year at least Paris stays up all night for Nuit Blanche where culture in all its forms takes over the city.
I let the Nuit Blanche 2009 Edition which took place from 7 PM on October 3 to 7 AM on October 4 pass me by with events from the Chatelet to Buttes-Chaumont and many places in between.
The video above gives you a feel for it.
Almost the same day if it was not for the different time zone, on October 4, many people in Asia were enjoying the Mooncake Festival as Kristy of My Little Space in Malaysia reminded me.
She made no less than 3 sweet treats for the occasion as she documents in Coconut, Fruit and Jelly Mooncakes (October 4).
Of the 3, I picked the Coconut Mocha Mooncake (pictured above) which almost looks like a dumpling.
The Mooncake Festival or Mid-Autumn Festival tradition goes back some 2000 years if not more and his widely celebrated by Vietnamese and Chinese people.
It is held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the lunar calendar.
These were 2 things I missed in October, so far.
I am sure there will be many more, please forgive me.
