Taking a walk around Industry City in Sunset Park, Brooklyn and passing Makerbot home on your way to tasting (judging?) some of the best street food New York City has to offer sounds like a great plan for a Saturday afternoon.
You can do just that by attending NYC Vendy Awards 2013 taking place at that very location on September 7 from 2:30 pm to 7:00 pm.
For food groupies, some food celebrities will be there, among them:
Vendy Cup, Hero, Rookie, Market, Dessert and last New Jersey are Finalists 5 groups.
To give a little boost to my fellow Garden State residents let me name them: The French Quarter (Bloomfield), Home by the Range (local, fresh and organic, Woodbridge), Hunger Construction (Montclair), Molly's Milk Truck (cinnamon challah French toast sticks anyone, Leonia) and last Tony Boloney's Mustache Mobile (Atlantic City).
The Vendy Awards benefit Street Vendor Project at Urban Justice Center.
Tickets sales Online via Eventbrite end at 5 PM (Eastern) today Friday, September 6.
General admission is $95 per person.
Doubt I will be able to make it as work is calling Saturday afternoon.
