In search of culinary adventures, look no further than this.
From June 9 to June 14, Heilala Vanilla invites a small group of guests to witness the Vanilla Harvest.
You will not be put to work, while farm hands do that, you can harvest memories to last you a lifetime.
Here's what on the program,
Both the Heilala Vanilla Plantation and the Tongan Beach resort are located in the middle of Utunagke village. The village is also home to the Latu Family who are very much a part of the Heilala Vanilla Plantation.
The group will be a maximum of 20 genuine foodies which will ensure a unique gourmet experience for all!"
Participants will stay at Tongan Beach Resort.
Amongst the activities, guests will be treated to:
On June 10:
Walk up to Plantation, to look at harvest underway – plantation will be in full operation with Vanilla in all stages: being picked, cured and dried under the Sun. Participants will be free to join the harvest.
Then visit to the town centre of Neiafu and the market to source ingredients to be used later in the afternoon for a cooking demo with Peter.
On June 12:
Depart as a group on a Moorings large catamaran for a trip out to the most picturesque island in the Vava’u group, Hunga, where guests will enter the Lagoon and spend time at Ika Lahi Lodge.
Peter will be demonstrating our lunch meal in the kitchen at the lodge and following this we will sit down on the deck and enjoy.
Once we are ready and have explored the island we can head back to the Tongan Beach Resort viewing all the islands on the way back – maybe even spot some early whales as they migrate to Vava’u!
Beach Resort, and enjoy the results of the demo for dinner that evening.
What price for these leisurely days:

(Cost includes all airfares, transfers in Nukualofa and Vava’u, 3 demonstration classes and meals
with Peter Gordon, Dinner at Mangoes Restaurant and trip on Mooring Yacht around Vava’u Island and visiting Ika Lahi Lodge.
Other costs will be any personal expenses and meals outside those and flights to and from Auckland)
