The Shortlist for 2010 Guild of Food Writers Awards (UK) was announced on June 2nd.
It got my attention first because a couple people I have interviewed this year are on it, namely Pascal Aussignac for Cuisinier Gascon: Meals from a Gascon Chef (published by Absolute Press) and José Pizarro for Seasonal Spanish Food with Vicky Bennison (published by Kyle Cathie).
Another nominee is Katie Caldesi, author of The Italian Cookery Course (Kyle Cathie) published as Cook Italy in the US. You should see our interview with Katie in the next week or so…
Then there are others on the list we wish we had talked to (it's not too late), especially Gaitri Pagrach-Chandra who wrote Warm Bread and Honey Cake (published by
Pavilion in the UK and Interlink in the US)…
We could not resist asking Tom Kevill-Davies aka The Hungry Cyclist who is also shortlisted for The Hungry Cyclist: Pedalling the Americas in Search of the Perfect Meal (his first book, Harper Collins, 2009) for an interview which he agreed to.
Not sure when you will see it but you will.
Last, we're happy to see by
Nick Harman of Foodepedia (a favorite site of ours) nominated for Restaurant Reviews category.
Winners of the 15th Guild of Food Writers Awards will be announced on
June 17 at the Design Museum in London.
