Maison Noblet was first and foremost an oyster farm, a family affair now for over a century located in Riec sur Belon near Pont-Aven on the Atlantic coast of Finistere (Brittany) about halfway between Lorient and Quimper.
When the son Jacky took over from his parents with his wife Sylviane in the late 60's, they soon decided to add a seasonal tasting area to the year round farm.
Today Chez Jacky, is a restaurant that can seat up to 100 people with views of the Belon.
When I say seafood diet, I should say shellfish diet as only shellfish is offered from bigorneaux and lobsters to oysters and shipsize seafood platters. You could call it boat to table as we talk about 'farm to table'.
The restaurant is opened only from Easter through September and you can also take home some fresh shellfish on the way out during the same period.
I noticed that as a good Breton establishment should, they offer Cider and on the dessert side Far Breton and
Kouign Amann.
Back to the roots.
